Kaya's Dance Team

Kaya's schedule is about to get crazy!

She has been with Energy Dance Company's  Mini Team for six months now.
She has made new friends, and has learned so much in such a short time.
We are so proud of her.
And it is great to see her so much more involved, and happy about what she is doing.

She has had some extra work to put in.....
She has spent the last two months sick off and on.
Between the nasty air we've had,
her asthma,
and the crappy upper respiratory infection everyone keeps passing around,
she has missed a lot of classes.
She is working hard to make up for it all though.
She comes home and has been practicing nearly every day.
(ALL DAY)!!
We often have to tell her to stop, that its enough.

She wonders around the house from the time she gets up and then goes to bed,
as if she is apart of some Disney musical production.
It drives us crazy!

Energy Dance Company has planned two dance competitions for the season.
Both are local, thank goodness.
They will also be preforming at the Ogden Arts Day again this spring, at the Ogden Amphitheater.
And only a short time after that they have their annual show and Weber State University.

We will also be allowing Kaya to compete her solo several times this year.

She has been coming to the lyrical class I teach on Friday's
and wants to preform with them at our annual show, also this Spring, at Ogden High School.

What have we gotten ourselves into?.......
I'm exhausted just typing about it.
I am glad we turned down the Tuacahn Trip with the team.
I think that would have just been to much for all of us.

Kaya is doing great in school also.
We love to watch her while she is learning.....
She can be such a perfectionist at times.
And she has on occasions, been very upset if things don't come to her as fast as she thinks they should.
That's when we have to sit down and explain to her that things take time.......

I hope we have been able to fill you in on some of what they have been up to...

Basketball for Dylen

With things slowing down for a week or two, I finally have time to do some updates on the kids....

Dylen has been playing basketball for the last month.
They have won two out of three games so far this season.
Which is great!

But, due to the crazy weather we've been having,
he's had one game canceled and we are not sure when that one will be played.

So far they are in line for the play-off games.
So exciting. Let's hope they can keep it up.

Dylen has decided not to play La-cross this season, (yeah!)
having been invited to play for a Spring Competition Basketball team.
I won't mind, that should save us a little money. (LOL)
We won't have to buy so much equipment for that.

He is really looking forward to working hard, hoping to try and keep up with the other teams we know will be there during the season.....
We know of one teams
coached by his football coach, are amazing.
Having watched them for the last year, we know the boy's will have to work hard and keep their heads in the game at all times against the other boys.

Scott has also been asked to help assistant coach for Dylen's team.....
The head coach is our friend and pastor, Brian.
What new and fun things are in store for us this season???

Both Dylen and Kaya's activities are going to keep us on our toe's for most of the Spring!

I shouldn't complain, we do this all football and wrestling season long.
I'm just out of practice, I've had a month off. Hehe!
It was nice while the slow down lasted.

Dylen has also managed do great in school with all the added activities.
I couldn't ask for better.
